FERNANDO FRATERNALI
Founder, CEO and R&D Manager

Professor of Structural Mechanics in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Salerno, Italy. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Salerno, and a Ph.D. in Multiscale Mechanics from King’s College London. F. Fraternali is author of a large number of scientific publications, patents ans invention disclosures on the design and modeling of innovative materials and structures for sustainable engineering. Prof. Fraternali was awarded a Fulbright Research Scholarship for the academic year 2005/06 and has been Visiting Professor at the Graduate Aerospace Laboratories of the California Institute of Technology since September 2005 (in sabbatical leave from the University of Salerno from 2005 through 2007), and the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, University of California, San Diego, USA, from August 2012 through to the present.

BSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Salerno, MSc in Civil Engineering at the University of Naples Parthenope, Post Graduate Certificate in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Sheffield (UK). Ilenia is author of numerous scientific publications and one patent on the subject of innovative materials for sustainable engineering. She has been awarded the 3rd prize within the Business Plan Competition “Start Cup Campania 2012”. for the project “New materials and techniques for sustainable engineering”, which has inspired the creation of NEWMATT.

Project Manager

MSc in Building and Architectural Engineering at the University of Salerno, where he is PhD student in “Risk and Sustainability in Civil, Environmental and Building Systems” on a joint program with the Texas A&M University (USA). Raffaele has participated in international research programs focusing his research on topics of energy efficient buildings, parametric minimal mass design of tensegrity systems, and the design and modeling of sustainable materials for 4d printing.

BSc and MSc degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Salerno where she has defended a MSc thesis on the subject of “Mechanical properties of cement mortars reinforced with recycled nylon fibers”. Mariella is PhD student in “Risk and Sustainability in Civil, Environmental and Building Systems” at the University of Salerno, where she carries out scientific research on the mechanical modeling of structural rehabilitation interventions through composite materials and the design and modeling of sustainable materials for 3d printing.

IDA MASCOLO
Project Manager

BSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering and MSc in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Naples “Federico II”. Over recent years, Ida has participated in international research programs dealing with the mitigation of risks deriving from natural hazards at the Department of Structures for Engineering and Architecture of the University of Naples “Federico II”. Ida is currently PhD student in “Risk and Sustainability in Civil, Environmental and Building Systems” at the University of Salerno, where she develops scientific research on the design and engineering of innovative tensegriy structures.
